Blog 7 - A person/expert on my field that I admire.

 Hello guys.

 Today I'm going to talk about one of my favorite composer of all time, it is difficult to decide what composer I admire more than others but i feel it is different to me, its like magic hahaha. I was discover this composer when it was on the first year of the career, so lets talk about Maurice Ravel.

Joseph-Maurice Ravel (1875 - 1937) was a French composer, pianist and orchestral director who was an important career into neoclassical and impressionist music style, he change the sonata form and he impulse the music to get into the new era, so it is so important with his impact in the French culture and the world, so Ravel became next step for news ideas of that time, he was working at the same time with his elder contemporary Claude Debussy.

Ravel was born in Saint-Jean-De-Luz, France, and he was young when demonstrate abilities for music and piano, so at 14, he entered the Paris Conservatory and start to create a lot of special music of that decade. He is one of the composers who has clearly what they want and he can portray his ideas into the paper, situation that is so difficult for everyone.

He has a lot of different works, but his famous pieces are Boléro (1928), Pavane pour une infante défunte (1899; Pavane for a Dead Princess), Rapsodie espagnole (1907), the ballet Daphnis et Chloé (first performed 1912), and the opera L'Enfant et les sortilèges (1925; The Child and the Enchantments)

For me this composer was so important because in that time when I was a first year student, I don't knew if musical composition was a career who loved, but i have the chance to hear one of his piano concerto in some class, and it was so magic and beautiful that it becomes to me the feel to make the same beautiful pieces to, like him. 

Let´s talk about this concerto, the entire name of this piece is call: Piano Concerto For the Left Hand, it is call like this because one of his pianist friend of Ravel lose his arm in the world war 1, so this pianist ask for him to compose a piano concerto when you can only play with the left hand. It is crazy right? And the most amazing thing is when we listen the concerto, it is sound like the pianist have two hands, so impressive!

 Hi Everyone. Today I going to talk about my favorite food, it is an old classic but its the most delicious plate that I ever taste. Let´s talk about Lasagna. When I was young I liked very much to eat spagetti with red sauce(and untill now xd), but an especial element was missing in that delicious meal, the cheese. So I have the oportunity to taste the combination of pasta, meat, tomatoes sauce and cheese in a restaurant that I don´t remember the name right now, and it was magic. The steps to cook this delicious plate are: First you cook the pasta and then you prepare the meat with onion to make a what we call "pino", then you add the tomatoes sauce to the pino and finally you have to prepare the cream, you put everything in layers (pasta, pino, sauce, cream and cheese) and then you repeat the second layer in the same way.  I like the combination of the texture that cheese make to the pasta with the sauce, it is like a refresh in my mouth so makes me feel more starving.  ...

Blog 6: How Can My Major/Career Make the World a Better Place

 Hello. Today I´m going to talk about how my major can make the world a better place. Well... is an interesting question, because some time ago I was thinking about my next step that I have to take after I finish my major. This is the last year in my career so I had a plan that includes to travel to another country and learn more about musical composition. At the first time it is sound amazing and exciting, but the time passed and I realize that this is not really what I want, so this make me change my plans.  It is logical from a musician to get expertise in the countries that classical music has more impact in the society and also has the best players around the world. But there´s something that was missing for me, the importance of sharing the knowledge of music with people that have the interest in this area, and spread our ideas in new listeners too. Blog 2 - Why did I choose this career?

 Hi Everyone!   When I was younger, I liked to hear some rock music, or metal, some crazy stuff that my mother listened to. In that time we loved to hear some Guns and Roses hits, it was incredible to see the music on "Terminator" movies, when the protagonist drive on a motorcycle, so amazing scene!  That influence make me think how the music comes form the screen and how its involve with cinema movies. That question impulse me to search more information and make more interest with things in relation on visual arts. Meanwhile, in my home I loved to play some videogames, I spent many hours to play all of my favorites games like Crash Bandicoot, Dino Crysis or Metal Gear Solid. One of theese games have the most beautiful soundtrack I ever hear, its from the game "Shadow of the Colossus" for PlayStation 2.
